Triple Get: Introduction

Get Up. Get Ready. Get Going – Triple Get

The Triple Get series is about going out and evangelizing. The heart of the Great Commission. If you want to be used by God and if you are willing to labour for Him, it is very important that you take the time and work through this series.

Let’s start!

If you want to be used by God there are 7 steps that I would recommend you look at first:

  1. Keep your life clean

2 Timothy 2:21

If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.

2. Constantly seek the Lord and let Him direct you

Under this point many people will say it is to find your “vision”. Please make sure you understand that we cannot have a personal vision. Vision is to see God working in your current situation. Realizing that it is the power of God and His direction, then moving with God. the only vision we can have is to realize what God is busy doing in the world and then playing our role in the bigger plan.

3. Be thankful for what God has done and everything in your life

How can you tell someone else about the joy that you find in the Lord with a heap of baggage showing how ungrateful you are, with constant complaining about current world affairs and personal problems. NO! My God is Almighty, He will solve all my problems, therefore I can rejoice even if I am currently clueless of any solution. With that conviction I can proclaim the glory of the Lord.

4. Stand firm upon your role as a Christian

Ephesians 2:10

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

1 Peter 2:9

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

We must keep this role/calling simple. (I will write a section on “our calling” at a later stage titled “Walk Worthy”) We were made for God’s glory, to form apart of His family, to be like Christ, created to serve others and fulfill the Great Commission.

5. Be spiritually minded

Jesus is the perfect example.

Hebrews 12:2

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Colossians 3:2

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Psalms 105:4

Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.

Romans 8:6

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

6. Never look back

Don’t look back to your previous life before Christ like the Israelites looked back to the luxuries of Egypt. It one of the most powerful deceptions that the enemy uses to sidetrack us.

Luke 9:62

And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

Isaiah 43:18-19

Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

The Lord knows best and He is in control, therefore we must trust in Him even though the times get tough, He will provide and He will sustain us. There was bondage and slavery in Egypt, there is freedom in Christ.

7. Die to yourself

John 3:30

He must increase, but I must decrease.

John 3:30 must be the constant motto in our lives, that with every action, with every word you we speak, God must increase.

2 Corinthians 12:9

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

God wants you to have something far better than riches and gold, and that is helpless dependence on Him

Hudson Taylor

It all boils down to humbleness. Knowing that we are nothing without God. Realizing that if something of importance happens in our lives all glory is due to Him. How do you pray? Do you ask God to help you manage your life correctly? It sounds so right, but you must get of the throne and ask God to manage your life correctly for you. Let God do the managing and take control.

“My Kingdom Go” is a necessary correlator to “Thy Kingdom Come”

Aldous Huxley

Do not stagnate, get your life in order and share the Gospel with as many people as possible. In the next three parts of the Triple Get series we will go more in depth.
