Jesus is more than enough

I believe there is much more to Christianity than everyone is experiencing and that more is – Jesus.

You see, the problem is that we become infatuated with other things that tend to interfere with our direct relationship with Jesus. We all know about the bad things that cause that interference, but I want to bring some good things under your attention as well that can interfere if not done in the right order of importance. Things like, prophecy, end-time research, fundraisers, leadership etc.

I heard this from a preacher the other day and it rings true in my innermost being, “My Church is interested in everything except me.”

Jesus is enough!

When I say He is enough, I mean literally for everything. He is not just the Light, he is the Gate, the Road and the Light. Guess what, He is even the Destination to which you are going. Think about it for a moment. If you are satisfied to just be in heaven, even though Jesus is not there, you will not be in heaven.

John 14:6

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

The Gospel is not so much of getting people in heaven, but more of getting people to God. The main fruit of our faith in God must be to search for Him daily, to yearn for a closer relationship with Him and to let your heart become His.

(Before you continue reading the article, read John 6)

Everyone driving on a road knows that a sign saying Cape Town in 650km is not Cape Town, but just a sign. So who, in their right mind, will stop at that sign and scream with an excitement that he has reached his destination?

John 6:29

Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

Just after Jesus said this they started asking about the manna in the desert.

John 6:30-31

They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work? Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.

In essence they are implying that they like the things that come from Jesus, but they don’t like Him that much. This is very true in today’s church, people are absolutely crazy about the things that come from God, but the don’t necessarily like God that much. Some people are even neutral towards God. You see, we constantly fill ourselves with other nonsense that we are not hungry for what really matters anymore.

Philippians 3:7-10

But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

There is never “too” much of Jesus. You can always have more, and Jesus will always give more to the willing.
